ESC ROUTES are a series of online conversations about both timely and enduring issues in relation to the politics and ethics of computing and digital technology. We will experiment with formats including but not limited to podcasts, zoom panels, online fishbowls, and more.
We have chosen this online format in part due to the global covid-19 pandemic that has moved our ESC activities and operations online. But even before the pandemic, ESC had been working hard to open up our conversations via live-streaming and other forms of online engagement. Many ESC related topics and projects such as technology’s role in labor exploitation and precarious work and digital rights activism have become even more timely and relevant in our current moment.
Some ESC ROUTES directly relate to covid-19. Our aim is to balance information overload and exhaustion from pandemic-related information with ESC related research topics – timely then and now.
If you have covid-19 related topics or expertise as it pertains to digital technology and ethics of computing, please reach out to us at email@example.com.
If you want to propose a topic or a particular format, we would love to hear from you as well. Please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
